Where did my tax refund go – Why you may not get a tax refund in 2023?

I have already seen a number of social media post slamming accountants because people are not receiving a refund for their 2023 tax return.  One even responded with “you need to claim more deductions” (you cannot make up expenses and you can only claim deductions for allowed expenses).   This article from the abc news website outlines the reasons that you may not receive the refund you expect for your 2023 tax return.
