Military Personel and Families

Why would ADF personnel want to work with me?

I have nearly 25 years of experience in the RAAF and Defence Industry and continue to serve as an active reservist. I understand the unique decisions that ADF members need to make regarding their finances.

As a CPA accountant, registered tax agent, and licensed financial adviser, I have qualifications, skills and knowledge with over 20 years of experience. I can provide support and relevant information to make good financial decisions for you to manage your finances to benefit you and your family.

I am a member of Military Super and have been able to help ex-military members navigate the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation suite of military and public service super schemes.

This is the second business I have owned. If you have left the ADF and are running your own business then make time to chat. Perhaps you need to streamline your accounting? Do you meet the legal requirements about staff entitlements? I also have links to other professionals to support you, including business coaches and lawyers.

  • Should I live on or off base? Should I rent or buy?

Early on in my career in the ADF, I didn’t think I needed to buy a house because we managed to save some money and we were financially better off from the investment returns we achieved compared to buying a house.  However, my goals were not all about investment returns and I eventually put a

  • I am in a defined benefit fund, why would I need to see a financial planner?

Firstly, superannuation is only one part of a financial plan and ignoring the rest is like trying to complete a jigsaw puzzle with only 20% of the pieces; you will not see the whole picture and how the different parts go together.  Secondly, a lot of people understand the benefits of a defined benefit fund
